DSpace at the ANU

The Demetrius repository is powered by DSpace; an open source digital repository developed by the international DSpace Federation, of which ANU is an active member.

ANU contributes to DSpace software developments through Digital Resource Services (DRS), a program of Scholarly Technology Services. In particular, Scott Yeadon, is an active member of the DSpace Committers Group.

DRS staff are responsible for the following DSpace initatives:

  • Thumbnail picture gallery:
  • Bulk upload facility:

DRS staff have also extended the interoperability of DSpace by integrating it into the Apache Cocoon XML publishing framework.

For example, Kim McKenzie's 'People of the Rivermouth: The Joborr Texts of Frank Gurrmanamana', a joint print and CD-ROM publication, is in the process of conversion to XML and other archival digital media formats and published on the Web through the Apache Cocoon framework.
